2. ABA’s William W. Greenhalgh Student Writing Competition,
Deadline: April 30, 2012
The topic for this year’s competition is Technology & Privacy: Implications for Criminal Law, Practice & Procedure. Any timely and important topic relating to developments in criminal law or procedure influenced by technology and its effects on privacy interests will be considered. The winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize, airfare and accommodations to attend an ABA Section meeting, and the opportunity for publication.
 

3. Telecommunications Policy Research Conference (TPRC) Prizes for Graduate or Law Students,

TPRC is an annual conference on communication, information and internet policy that convenes international and interdisciplinary researchers and policy makers from academia, industry, government, and nonprofit organizations. TPRC is soliciting papers that report current theoretical or empirical research relevant to communication and information policy.

The University of New Hampshire School of Law’s IDEA® Intellectual Property Law Review is looking for original, publishable papers addressing compelling issues in intellectual property law for its annual writing competition. 5. AIPLA’s Robert C. Watson Award,

The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)-sponsored competition considers articles that contribute to the knowledge respecting intellectual property and the extent to which it displays original and creative thought or information. The author of the winning paper will be flown to Washington D.C. to receive the Watson Award on October 26, 2012.

6. Jeremy D. Protas LGBT Patent Law Scholarship,

In furtherance of the goal of increasing the number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons in the field of patent law, this scholarship awards $1,000 to a well-qualified LGBT candidate interested in pursuing a career in patent law.
