Santa Clara Law is pleased to announce that two new members have joined the Law Advisory Board.
Deepa Rich J.D. ’07 is a partner in Goodwin’s Life Sciences group and Business Law department Leader for the Silicon Valley office.
Deepa has years of experience working on corporate transactions for high-growth biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic, healthcare, and digital health companies. She also regularly represents venture capital funds and underwriters in the Life Sciences industry. She advises management and boards of directors on corporate governance and critical strategic matters – from general corporate, startup issues, public company reporting, market communications, and market regulatory issues to acquisitions, corporate development, and capital market strategies.
Deepa co-led the development of Goodwin’s Women’s Health + Wellness initiative, a cross-functional effort guiding the innovators and investors in reimagining the women’s health and wellness sector.
Devika Sagar J.D. ’21 is a Commercial Contracts Negotiator at Intuitive Surgical.
As a double bronco, Devika embodies the spirit of Santa Clara University, blending academic excellence with a genuine desire to contribute to the greater good. Devika currently works as a Commercial Contracts Attorney at Intuitive Surgical, Inc. where she manages multiple contracts. She also comes from a family of restauranteurs and supports her family business. In her free time, Devika enjoys spending time with family and exploring new restaurants. Devika says of her appointment to the Law Advisor Board, “I am inspired to give back, as appreciation for the invaluable opportunities and knowledge that this institution has generously shared with me.”
Dorian Daley J.D. ’86 has been appointed chair of the Law Advisory Board after having served as a member since 2017. Dorian spent much of her career with Oracle Corporation before retiring as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel in 2023. She previously served as a member of the Law High Tech Advisory Board, and as a member of the Diversity Gala organizing committee.
Santa Clara Law extends our gratitude to outgoing chair, Andrew (Andy) Kryder BS ’74, JD/MBA ’77. Andy was a member of the Board of Fellows from 2011 – 2014 and joined the Law School’s Board of Visitors in 2013. He was instrumental in helping the Law School envision the Law Advisory Board, has been an active member for the last six years, and will continue to serve the School of Law on the board in the coming year.
The Santa Clara Law Advisory Board is an advisory and service organization whose members serve as volunteers, advisors, and ambassadors for Santa Clara University School of Law. LAB members support the Law School in the following ways:
- Advise on key initiatives that support its mission, vision, goals, and overall strategic direction and provide leadership and service for the projects that support these key initiatives;
- Provide leadership and philanthropic support for strategic fundraising priorities including scholarships, programs, and capital projects;
- Serve as a bridge to the legal and business community of Silicon Valley, the public sector and beyond, and advocate for the importance of a holistic legal education that embodies the Jesuit mission of service to humanity;
- Participate in activities involving students, faculty, and staff that increase the visibility and/or reputation of Santa Clara Law in the community and beyond.
