Over the weekend, 500 justice advocates gathered in Portland, Oregon for the annual Innocence Network conference. Approximately 116 were exonerees who spent 1749 years in prison for crimes they didn’t commit, and the others included attorneys and other staff who work every day to free the wrongfully convicted. When all exonerees in attendance had gathered on the stage, Chicago Exoneree Antoine Day sang “Lean on Me.” The courage and grace of these men and women always inspires, and motivates us to continue our work freeing the wrongfully convicted!
