Today, the Northern California Innocence Project released its annual report detailing its accomplishments during the 2014 fiscal year. Some highlights from the report include:
- Exonerating George Souliotes, a man wrongfully convicted of arson who is now free after serving 16 years in prison
- Expanding the NCIP clinic for Santa Clara Law students to two semesters instead of one, providing students a deeper educational experience and greater support to clients
- Sponsoring several important pieces of legislation that have helped protect the innocent
- Hosting a highly successful Eyewitness Identification Best Practices Symposium, which led some jurisdictions to make immediate changes to their existing procedures
- New updates on each of the NCIP exonerees
