This event will introduce the audience to some practical and unique intellectual property issues associated with new media art, which encompasses artworks created with new media technologies, such as digital art, computer graphics, Internet art, interactive art, video games, computer robotics, 3D printing, and artwork as biotechnology. The speakers will draw examples from a wide range of artistic fields and explore issues including authorship, authenticity, and originality of works of art.

Moderated by Virginia MacSuibhne, Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer of Roche and instructor in SCU Law’s Compliance Master’s Program, the first hour will include top industry experts Stuart Lee, Chief Privacy Officer of VMWare and Michelle Bazu, Cybersecurity Counsel from VMWare and Fred Mpala, Head of Diagnostics Product Cybersecurity at Roche discussing cybersecurity threats in organizations, vulnerability monitoring, incident management, tools and resources and keys issues and risks.
The second hour will include top industry experts Robert Glaser, founder and managing principal of Conduit Privacy Solutions and Alea Garbagnati, Compliance and Privacy Counsel at Roche, covering the interface between cybersecurity and privacy and data incidents/breaches and the implications and notification requirements.
