Students: if you are interested in studying IP in the summer, Santa Clara offers a four-week course in European Intellectual Property Law in Munich, Germany, from May 26 through June 21. The course is open to 1L students; you need NOT have taken an IP course in the U.S. to enroll. The course is taught in English by German professors and practitioners. (I give three introductory lectures on U.S. law.)
For students who have a scientific or technical background (sufficient to take the U.S. Patent Bar exam), you can also get internships with German patent firms, working on English-language applications at the European Patent Office.
