Function may be included:
• Drafting office action response and effectively and efficiently respond to USPTO office actions on Company’s Patent Applications
• Analyze and interpret changes to regulations, policies and practices affecting technology transfer and IP management, provide advice on their intent and application and respond to requests for information
• Work closely with Company’s engineer to examine invention disclosures for novelty against known prior art and ensure compliance with the Patent Act and Trademarks Act; assess
commercial potential; provide advice on the protection of the IP
• Plan and manage the operations of all IPs inside company; develop work plans; establish priorities; plan and manage the budget; provide leadership and direction to staff; assess performance
• Develop IP strategic plan on all matters pertaining to domestic and international IP management issues Work closely with customers/partners on complex and strategic IP management and technology transfer issues
• Ensure compliance by licensee corporations of the terms and conditions of the license agreements; participate in the negotiation of contract agreements covering R&D activities
Qualification required:
• Law Degree student majoring with IP and Licensing
• BS/MS/PhD in Engineering/Physics/Science with industry experience is a plus
• Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will be a plus.
• The candidate must be admitted/ willing to appear the bar examination to practice law in the State of California.
• Experiences in startup and raising VC funds are the plus. Several years of business and legal experience involving semiconductor/ optics technologies, technology transfer, strategic planning, licensing and high technology business management are also a plus.
