Eric GoldmanProfessor Eric Goldman named Knight Visiting Scholar

Eric Goldman is an internet law expert, Associate Dean for Research and co-director of the High Tech Law Institute. He is a preeminent legal scholar whose seminal work has documented the interpretation of Section 230 internet law. His scholarship spans over 25 years, having been one of the first to teach internet law as part of the law school’s curriculum. Read more.

The rankings in the Winter 2021 issue of PreLaw Magazine, include #4 in the nation for our tech law program, and an A+ ranking for our international law program. This year, Santa Clara is one of 10 law schools in the nation to earn an A+ from the magazine in the area of international law. PreLaw Magazine also rates Santa Clara in the A- group of Most Diverse Law Schools. Read more.

On February 4th, the Santa Clara Law community gathered virtually for the 16th Annual Diversity and Inclusion Celebration, which highlights the accomplishments of individuals and organizations committed to promoting a diverse profession. Jackie Gonzalez2021 Alexander Prize Award Ceremony

On March 24th, Santa Clara Law awarded the 2021 Katharine & George Alexander Law Prize to Jackie Gonzalez, Policy Director and co-founder of Immigration Defense Advocates. Foundation Project (TSF). This award has been made possible through the generosity of Katharine & George Alexander to bring recognition to legal advocates who have used their legal careers to help alleviate injustice and inequity. Professor  Catherine Sandoval, Robert Murillo JD ’21, JD ’21, Ben Katzenberg JD ’20Faculty and Students at Santa Clara Law Fight to Protect Californians from Power Shutoffs and Wildfires

Professors Catherine Sandoval and Allen S. Hammond IV, students Robert Murillo JD ’21, and Rosa Rico JD ’21, and new alumnus Ben Katzenberg JD ’20 have been on an unpaid, David vs. Goliath quest to protect millions of Californians from equipment mishaps and operational failures that can cause raging wildfires. They also want to prevent hugely disruptive power shutoffs, which Sandoval argues masks the real problem: failures by utility companies to properly maintain the electric grid. Read more.

Scholarship Spotlight: Marco Segura JD ’21

Marco Segura JD ’21 has received several scholarships while at SCU including the B.T. Collins Scholarship and the Faculty Scholarship. He is also the recipient of a 2020 Pat Tillman Scholarship for active duty service members.
