Spring means it’s a new season for IP Law awards and scholarships! If you have demonstrated an interest in IP Law and have excellent academic credentials, you may qualify for one of the many IP Law awards and scholarships for law students. Pay attention to the deadlines because some are approaching fast.
 
Sidney B. Williams – open to minority students interested in IP law. Apply online no later than March 15, 2019.
 
Jan Jancin Award – Santa Clara Law may nominate one student who has exemplified excellence in IP academic studies and wants to pursue a career in IP law. Send your name to HTLI@scu.edu no later than March 31, 2019 and indicate that you are applying for the Jan Jancin Award if you want to be considered for nomination.
 
Rachel Krevans Scholarship – has a number of criteria for eligibility, the first of which are that the applicant must be a currently enrolled law student who identifies as a woman. For the other eligibility criteria, visit the ChIPs website (link above). Apply no later than April 10, 2019.
 
Robert C. Watson Award – a student writing competition sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). The winner will be honored at the AIPLA Annual Meeting on October 24-26, 2019 in Washington, D.C. Visit the AIPLA website (link above) for submission details. Articles must be submitted no later than June 28, 2019.
 
BNA Student Award – all 2L and 3L students with superior academic performance and a demonstrated interest in IP law should apply. HTLI may select up to three (3) law students with the highest GPAs of those who apply. Send your name to HTLI@scu.edu no later than March 31, 2019 and indicate that you are applying for the BNA Student Award.
