Message From the Executive Director

Cynthia MertensWhat a year! The Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center has seen students grow, clients served and professors and staff engaged on so many levels.  Your support throughout the year was essential to remain actively committed to the different communities we serve, and I thank you.

The two stories that highlight the work of our students are but a sample of the amazing work that took place this year. Our annual Celebration in October was a joyful and fun-filled experience, and your support was genuinely felt. As we face a new year, we ask that you continue that support. A small, tax-deductible contribution goes a long way. For example, our collaborative efforts to assist human trafficking victims are escalating along with the financial challenge to support them, as evidenced by the article about the Super Bowl below. But through your assistance, we can remain at the forefront of the social justice issues affecting our community today.

I wish you a very happy, restful holiday, and am grateful that each of you touches the Law Center in some special way. Please stay in touch.

Gratefully,

Cynthia A. Mertens
Executive Director
