Papers may address any subject in the field of securities law. Students must be enrolled at any accredited law school in the U.S. for the 2017 fall semester to participate.
Three prizes will be awarded at ASECA’s annual dinner on Friday, February 24, 2018 in Washington DC:
$5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place, and $2,000 for third place.
Award winners will be invited to the dinner, which is attended by SEC Commissioners and many SEC senior staff members.
Papers need not have been previously published to be considered, but they must be of publishable quality. Unpublished papers, papers published in any law journal or other publication during the calendar year of 2017, and papers scheduled for publication in 2017 or 2018 are eligible for submission. Co-authored papers are not eligible.
Two copies of each submission should be sent to: ASECA, P.O. Box 5767, Washington DC 20016, and must be received by ASECA no later than November 10, 2017.
All submissions must include author’s name, email address, postal address, telephone number, law school, and year of anticipated graduation.
Papers will be screened by a panel of judges consisting of securities practitioners and law professors. The best papers will be submitted to the Board of Directors of ASECA to select the award winners.
