Jennie Winter and Sharon Bashan, Pro Bono Project Silicon Valley

Sharon Bashan coordinates the Domestic Violence Limited Scope Representation (DVLSR) project, overseeing volunteers who help DVLSR clients. She came to the Pro Bono Project in October 2005 with almost ten years of public interest experience in the public and private sectors. Ms. Bashan holds a BA in Sociology and Environmental Policy (with honors) from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She completed her JD at Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was a Public Interest Scholar and B.T. Collins Scholar. During law school, Ms. Bashan served as an Articles/Comments Editor for the Journal of International Law. She studied Comparative Civil Rights at Oxford University, England, where she also competed in a moot court competition. While in law school, Ms. Bashan concentrated on family law and juvenile law, focusing on issues that impact families and children. She served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Leonard Edwards, a nationally-renowned judge specializing in children’s issues.

Jeannie Winter is the Director of Client Services and an attorney at the Pro Bono Project Silicon Valley where she oversees volunteers who help clients with family law matters, including certified law students and attorneys. During law school, Ms. Winter focused on family and juvenile law, serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Leonard Edwards in Juvenile Dependency Court. After law school, Ms. Winter went into private practice in the area of family law, practicing in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Alameda counties. Ms. Winter holds a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law, a BA in Human Development, and a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University, Hayward. As a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, Ms. Winter sits on the Family Law Executive Committee, the Family Law Education Committee, and the Minor’s Representation Committee.
