Nina Olson, the National Taxpayer Advocate, has started a blog. I think this is cool because she often highlights issues that affect the same sex tax community. Remember that in her 2010 report to Congress, which I blogged about here, she identified a number of the challenges that same-sex couples face and said that the IRS should do more to provide us with guidance. The IRS said that would be too hard to do and her office responded, explaining why it would not be.

In her 2011 report to Congress, which you can link to from her blog page, she has a section on diversity. In it she explains why there is no typical or generic taxpayer anymore. Several times she provides demographics about our community. If you want to read her diversity report to Congress click here. If you want to link to her blog, click here.
