In April 2022, David Sloss, the John A. and Elizabeth H. Sutro Professor of Law at Santa Clara University, published Tyrants on Twitter: Protecting Democracies from Information Warfare (Stanford University Press, 2022), and the book has received significant media attention. Sloss discussed the book in an interview with Santa Clara Magazine entitled “A Digital Cold War: A battle over the balance of power in the world is happening on your social media feed.” His book was also featured in an article on Engadget: “Hitting the Books: Modern social media has made misinformation so, so much worse.”

Sloss is an internationally renowned scholar who has published three books and a few dozen book chapters and law review articles. His scholarship focuses on the relationship between domestic law and international affairs. His work in this area is informed by a decade of experience in the federal government, where he helped draft and negotiate several major international treaties.
