Maria Foscarinis, executive director of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, is quoted in a recent New York Times article about a recent ruling by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that said laws banning sleeping or camping in public places violate the Constitution.  Foscarinis was the 2016 recipient of the Katharine & George Alexander Law Prize, awarded annually by Santa Clara University School of Law to bring recognition to legal advocates who have used their legal careers to help alleviate injustice and inequity.
