Jeff Kroeber

Jeff Kroeber has been a criminal defense attorney since 1976, 26 of those years with the Santa Clara County Public Defenders Office. He has over 120 jury trials and won People v. Laiwa (1983) 34 Cal.3d 711 in the California Supreme Court.

He has taught law school since 1982 and since 1988 at Santa Clara University as a Lecturer. He has taught Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Trial Practice and Criminal Procedure at various schools. A member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, he served four terms on its Board of Trustees. He was President of the Board of the Legal Aid Society.

He is a fourth generation teacher, and third generation Californian. His interests include teaching, Constitutional Law, United States and military history, conservation and hiking.
