Whitney Alexander joined the Heafey Law Library staff as head of acquisitions in 1998. He was promoted to director of the Technical Services Department in 1999 and then served as Library Co-Director from 2014 to 2016. In February 2016, he was appointed to his current position as Director of the Law Library and Law Technology. In addition to his librarian responsibilities, Whitney has served on numerous professional, Law School, and University committees.

Prior to working at Santa Clara Law, he worked as a systems librarian at Innovative Interfaces, Inc., from 1997 to 1998. His library experience also includes working in the Louisiana State University library system, and at Texas A&M University as the head of serial cataloging.
