How to Find an Externship

The Externship Program does not match students to externship positions, nor does it set up interviews with sponsors on behalf of students. All known externship positions are posted to the Santa Clara Law Jobs site. 

For assistance in searching and applying for externship positions, talk with an advisor at the Office of Career Management. You can also make an appointment with the ExPro by emailing ExPro@scu.edu.

Remember, it is common for many externship positions to go unposted. This is especially true for judicial externships. Many extern sponsors work with their current student to find the next available student. Be sure to speak with your classmates, as they are a wonderful source of information and opportunity! See our Externship Types page on Emery for a list of past externs who can tell you about their own externship experiences.
