Recent Developments in Patent Law

September 15, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The High Tech Law Institute (HTLI) is pleased to welcome leading patent attorneys to our High Tech Tuesday discussion on recent patent developments. From Haley Guiliano, a HTLI benefactor, are Dr. Andy Hilton, Josh Van Hoven (San Jose), and Greg Lundell, moderator (San Jose), who are joined by Michael Schwartz, Senior Vice President at Xperi Corporation.

This panel will discuss highlights from recent patent case law focusing on the different standards for patentability between patent prosecution at the USPTO and enforcement in the federal courts; Sisvel v. Haier, a recent decision by the German Federal Court of Justice involving standard-essential patents (SEP), an important decision for managers of global patent portfolios and operations; and cases involving infringement at importation.
