Join a special session on harnessing the power of “futures thinking” and civic imagination to uphold our core democratic values, with Lisa Kay Solomon, Futurist in Residence at Stanford University’s d.school and futures facilitator and educator Jeffrey Rogers.
In this lively session, we will explore what we can learn about shaping our future from life experiences and unexpected sources – from Sesame Street’s Elmo to the powerful fandom movements of Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, and sports legends from the WNBA and USA Olympians. At the core of this experience is the empowering belief that we can all be democracy futurists to collectively create the futures we envision.
Lisa and Jeff will share creative strategies from d.school’s award-winning program The Futures Happening and principles of how to foster imaginative, joyful, and resilient cultures in our schools, communities, and families.
