Hosted by the Office for Multicultural Learning and Santa Clara University School of Law, Congressman Ro Khanna conducted a Post-Election Town Hall meeting in Charney Hall, where the University’s law students study the intricacies of law. During the Event Congressman Ro Khanna spoke to Santa Clara students and faculty following his recent election to a fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Khanna, whose parents immigrated from India, emphasized his commitment to revitalizing American manufacturing and fostering a new era of U.S. leadership. He stressed the importance of “progress is hard and it takes time.” He highlighted the importance of strategic patience and persistence in enacting substantive change. Reflecting on the next generation’s role in shaping the nation, he encouraged young leaders to envision an America in which rests on the pillars of democracy and the importance of global standing.
The Town Hall covered a wide range of issues, focusing on practical solutions and ways to foster bipartisan cooperation. The discussion also covered more local issues such as California’s role as a leader in climate action and innovation, specifically in Silicon Valley’s potential to bridge technological advancements and regulation in areas such as AI and Digital Finance (Crypto Currency and FinTech).
