Pearson graduated in 2006 from Boston University before joining Santa Clara University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2009. While at Santa Clara Law, she participated in Law Review, Honors Moot Court, and was a part of the Computer & High Tech Law Journal. During the Summer after her 1L year through the fall of her second year of law school, Pearson clerked at Guy Kornblum & Associates (Kornblum, Cochran, Erickson & Harbison, LLP). As a 2L and 3L, she clerked at Wood, Smith, Henning, Berman LLP where she joined as an associate after graduation.
Pearson’s practice focuses on advising clients through project development, including engineering, operational strategies, and agreements. Her accomplished career path continued at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, LLP, before joining Varela, Lee, Metz & Guarino LLP with the San Francisco office of Watt, Teider, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, LLP. In 2015, she transitioned to an in-house role at CB&I, which later combined with McDermott International Inc. Pearson then joined Faegre, Drinker, Biddle & Reath, LLP (formerly known as Faegre Baker Daniels LLP) where she remained until October of this year.
Pearson has been credited with advising on projects over $50 billion in value. She also counsels clients through the planning, development, and management of large construction projects. Her work at Faegre Drinker as the co-lead of the energy asset class built upon extensive experience advising on energy projects, with a focus on transition and renewable energy. Sustainability has been a core part of Pearson’s mission, from LNG to hydrogen to carbon capture and sequestration. Pearson commented that, “I am excited about joining a firm that shares values aligned with mine and particularly thrilled to join a firm with a commitment to sustainability.” Her new role at Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be within their Energy & Natural Resources practice.
Pearson remarked on the role Santa Clara Law played in her journey, stating “Santa Clara University School of Law provided the legal foundation for strategic analysis that I rely upon in negotiating complex contracts and counseling clients during project development. I am forever proud of, and grateful for, the education I received at Santa Clara Law.”
