Ken is a technology transactions attorney, arbitrator and mediator with 29 years of experience in the areas of intellectual property litigation, commercial transactions, technology licensing and mergers & acquisitions.  

From 2011 to 2021, he served as Senior Vice President for Samsung Electronics and oversaw hundreds of intellectual property litigation and transactions matters including the Apple-Samsung litigation.  Ken negotiated three of the largest patent licenses in the industry and acquisition of technology startups as well as a Fortune 500 company.

Ken received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and graduated from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was on the editorial board for Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.

After law school, Ken served as a judicial law clerk to a federal judge and then as a federal prosecutor, trying 50 cases as first chair.  Subsequent to government service, Ken practiced as a partner at leading US law firms, focusing on patent litigation and licensing.  He successfully tried a Section 337 infringement case before the USITC as first chair and obtained a jury verdict in a copyright and trademark case.

Ken currently serves as a Judge Pro Tem and a Settlement Conference Officer for San Francisco Superior Court and on ADR panels for Alameda and Contra Costa County Superior Courts.  He is an arbitrator with AAA (commercial and consumer panels), FINRA, and KCAB International and a neutral with WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
