Course Description:
An intensive approach to learning trial skills. Each student is required to prepare and participate in a series of trial problems. Each student also conducts two complete trials. Lecture, demonstration, and critique by instructor and other experienced litigators. Prerequisites: 320 Evidence. Graded Credit/No Credit.

Experiential Course
Want to be a trial attorney? Here’s your chance. Students will study, and more importantly, perform all aspects of a trial. Opening statement, direct and cross-examinations, foundations, special witnesses, closing argument, etc. Students will attend a lecture and then perform in nine separate labs over the course of the semester. The labs will be coached by judicial officers and/or practicing attorneys. Finally, students will pair-up and try a brief trial at the end of the semester. Upon completion of the course, each student should have the knowledge and tools to fully complete a trial.
Credit/No Credit. Students who do not attend the first day of class will be dropped by the professor. Attendance is mandatory. Limited enrollment. Grade based on class exercises. Pre- or Co-requisite: Evidence (320).
