Dorian Daley JD ’86 was featured in an NPR story on Google and Oracle’s decade-long copyright battle over Oracle’s accusation that Google illegally copied its code for the development of Android software. Oracle says Google owes it nearly $9 billion in damages because of the success of Android. The case will be argued in the Supreme Court on October 7.
“Google was essentially offering a competing product and using our software in that competing product and giving it away for free. So it’s really hard to compete with that,” Dorian Daley, Oracle’s top lawyer, told NPR.
