Keith Wattley JD ’99 and his organization UnCommon Law were featured in a San Francisco Chronicle. Mr. Wattley founded the organization to help inmates with possible life sentences win parole. To date, he and UnCommon Law have helped more than 200 people be released from prison.

“I haven’t met a lost cause,” Wattley said in a recent interview in his office near Oakland’s Jack London Square.

He points to his clients as supporting evidence. They’ve gone on to complete college, get married, flourish in new careers. Of the 200-plus people released, only one has returned to prison, on an immigration violation.
