Gerald Uelmen – Dissent Rates Table

Gerald Uelmen

The dissent rates measure the percentage of published opinions in which a particular justice cast a dissenting vote from the majority opinion. It is a measure of the justice’s voting record, not his or her production of dissenting opinions. A dissenting vote is included regardless of whether the justice wrote a dissenting opinion or joined in the dissenting opinion of another justice. A justice’s authorship of dissenting opinions is tracked in the productivity tables (Part A, supra). The rate for each year covers the period of April 1 of the previous year through March 30 of the year indicated. The AVERAGE rate includes all the years reported.
