Panetta Fellowship

Course Description:

The Panetta Fellowship Program is a joint venture between Santa Clara University School of Law and the Leon & Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy in Monterey, California. The Panetta Fellowship Program was developed to provide an educational opportunity for law students interested in the law and government, political science, or public policy to work with the professional staff at The Panetta Institute, on matters within the public mission and service  service of the Institute. Students will complete 140 hours of field work at The Panetta Institute. Students must also register for and successfully complete the Externship Workshop (706). Please see the Externship website for more information. Graded credit/no credit only.

Class Notes:

While most law classes will meet online only, this course might have specific in person requirements.  Please review the notes below and reach out to the faculty instructors  as each will have different requirements.  The Externship Program will permit remote externships, pending the permission and requirements of the externship sponsor.

Experiential Course

Credit/No Credit. To apply, students must submit a resume, a transcript, and a statement of interest to the Externship Program (ExPro). Students will also be given a brief writing exercise. Please see the ExPro website for more information and to submit any questions about the Panetta Fellowship Program or the selection process.
