Intellectual Property Survey

The survey of Intellectual Property law explores the basic outlines of United States intellectual property law, including patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets. The course is designed both for students who want a single-course overview of US intellectual property law, as well as students who intend to pursue a career in intellectual property law.  No technical background is required. Because many IP electives require this course as a prerequisite, students planning to take other IP courses are well-advised to take this course as early as possible.    Certificate(s): High Tech Law
