Critical Lawyering Skills Seminar C3

Course Description:

The 1L Critical Skills Seminar interactive course that focuses on competencies students will need to succeed in law school and enter practice. Using hands-on problem based scenarios to explore professional roles, teach reflective lawyering and introduce students to critical skills such as: Communication, active listening, managing one’s own work, client service, creative problem solving, handling mistakes, self-development and reflective lawyering. The seminar is designed to help students think strategically about the critical skills needed for their law school and professional goals, and to develop a plan to achieve them.

Experiential Course
This class is for Section 3
Credit/No Credit. This is a required first-year class and attendence is mandatory. The seminar is also a prerequsite for students registering for their first externship.  Permission numbers for future Externship placements will be provided by the Externship Program Office upon approval of an application and successful completion of this course.
