This course teaches the fundamentals of data protection law. It focuses on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) while drawing comparisons with other relevant regulatory frameworks including recently enacted state privacy laws.
Prerequisite: Privacy Law (410). Students that have not taken the prerequisite but have taken and passed a CIPP exam are eligible.
