In 2002, Brian Banks, a 17 year old high school football star with a promising future, was convicted of a kidnap-rape by a fellow female classmate. With still no DNA evidence and a recantation by the alleged victim, the charges were dropped today – 10 years later- thanks to Bank’s attorney, California Innocence Project Director Justin Brooks.

Banks, once a star middle linebacker at a Long Beach High School, said he’d verbally agreed to attend USC on a four-year scholarship when he was arrested.
