Santa Clara Law’s Trial Team is pleased to announce a first place win in the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association competition on Saturday, November 6, 2021. The San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA) Mock Trial Competition is an annual external civil trial competition. This year’s case, Pamela Mackey Acker v. Tom Tongue Grocery Empire, Inc. was a premises liability case filed by the widow of Rodney Acker against Tom Tongue Grocery Empire, Inc. Mr. Acker was an employee of Need A Fix Roofing Company. Mr. Acker was killed when he fell through a skylight on the roof of the grocery business.

The competitors were Alexis Hatcher JD ’22 and Adam Turton JD ’22, Plaintiff’s Counsel for Pamela Mackey-Acker, and Allison Yniguez JD ’22 and Felicity Evans JD ’23, Defense Counsel for Tom Tongue Grocery Empire, Inc.
