Santa Clara University School of Law is excited to announce the hire of two new faculty members, who will start in the Fall 2022 semester. Sean Bland will be joining us from Georgetown University where he currently serves as a Senior Associate with the Infectious Disease Initiative at the O’Neill Institute at Georgetown. Taylor Dalton will be joining us from the University of Southern California where he is presently a doctoral candidate in the school’s political science and international relations program. Each comes with a wealth of experience and subject matter expertise.

“The School of Law has long been blessed to have a renowned and diverse faculty of dedicated educators and impactful scholars. Expanding this cadre of thought leaders with these two incredible hires and supporting their work with substantial recognition and resources is one of our greatest strategic priorities.” Michael Kaufman, Dean Santa Clara Law

In the Fall of 2020, Santa Clara Law welcomed Mary Procaccio-Flowers, Sue Guan, and Nick Serafin to the law school’s full time faculty. In total, Santa Clara Law will have welcomed five new full-time faculty members to its ranks in just the past two years, a testament to its institutional commitment to building and maintaining a vibrant and diverse community of scholars and educators.

As one of the most diverse law schools in our nation, all five of these newcomers reflect the law school’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming learning environment, and to cultivating the broad range of benefits associated with a diverse community.

“We are thrilled to welcome our new colleagues, each of whom brings a passionate commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service to our students, our institution and our community at large.” – Michelle Oberman, Katharine and George Alexander Professor of Law
