Santa Clara University School of Law has partnered with the Institute for the Future of Law Practice (IFLP) to offer curriculum that complements traditional law school offerings by equipping participating students with the knowledge and skills that are essential in modern legal practice.
“The emphasis is on real-world problem solving”, said Sandee Magliozzi, associate dean for experiential learning and clinical professor of law serving as the faculty liaison to IFLP. “IFLP provides training in the areas of business operations, technology, data, project management, and design thinking.” IFLIP then extend this training through practical work experience in paid internships at corporate legal departments, law firms, alternative legal service providers, legal tech companies, and public service organizations.
Santa Clara Law is one of only 17 participating innovative law schools in the US, Canada and Europe. IFLP, first offered in 2018, is a non-profit education organization that provides training for law students, via a 3-week hands-on boot camp, on disciplines that complement traditional law school curriculum.
