While in El Salvador, Santa Clara Law Professor Michelle Oberman met with two women who served time for what they say were obstetrical emergencies. Dozens of women have been imprisoned in El Salvador in recent years, charged with violating strict abortion laws, even though the women reportedly experienced miscarriages.
