Luis Arriaga S.J. spoke at Stanford on the contributions of jesuits to human rights in Mexico

Luis Arriaga S.J. gave a presentation at Stanford University on “The contributions of the Jesuits to the Human Rights Movement in Latin America: the case of Mexico”. His talk analyzed the successes and challenges of the Miguel Agustin Pro Juarez Center (Center Prodh), an NGO founded by the Jesuits in 1988 and inspired by the liberation theology movement in Latin America. From 2006 to 2011 Arriaga served as Director of Center Prodh. During his tenure, he litigated landmark cases before the Interamerican Human Rights Court and the Supreme Court of Mexico.
