Accommodations

Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusive Support at Santa Clara Law

At Santa Clara Law, our mission, grounded in Jesuit values, calls us to create a learning environment where all students can thrive. Central to this mission is our commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible academic experience for every member of our community.

We recognize that true inclusion is not only about equitable access, but also about creating a culture of solidarity and respect.

In partnership with the Office of Accessible Education (OAE), Santa Clara Law provides a range of accommodations to ensure that students have equitable access to academic programs, exams, and campus life. These services may include:

  • Extended time or alternative formats for exams
  • Note-taking assistance and assistive technologies
  • Accessible classrooms and physical spaces
  • Housing and mobility accommodations

We encourage you to reach out to the OAE as early as possible, ideally before the semester begins, so we can collaboratively plan for the support you need. You’ll be asked to provide documentation to help determine appropriate accommodations. Learn more and begin the process here: Office of Accessible Education

Once your accommodations are confirmed, we invite you to meet with the Law School Liaison to discuss implementation at the law school and ensure continuity across your academic experience. These early conversations reflect our commitment to cura personalis, or care for the whole person, and help us create and sustain a learning environment that fosters growth.

For any questions about accessibility at Santa Clara Law, or if you would like to begin a conversation about your needs, please reach out to: lawaccommodations@scu.edu

We believe that accessibility is a matter of justice, not just compliance. By working together, we can build a law school community where every student is supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
