Sandee Magliozzi
Associate Dean, Flex JD and Next Practices Clinical Professor of Law

Dean Magliozzi is a bold thought leader and a key member of the law school’s senior leadership team. She collaborates with faculty to develop innovative “next practices,” strategic curricular initiatives, and forward-thinking programs that align with emerging trends. Through innovation and collaboration, she transforms disparate ideas into cohesive visions that inspire collective buy-in.

Sandee is the co-creator of the Law School’s Flex JD Program, Silicon Valley’s hybrid part-time law degree. She also co-developed the former MLS in Corporate Compliance, contributed to the inaugural curriculum for the In-House Counsel Institute, and partnered with other law schools and the Alameda County Bar Association to launch the Bay Area Legal Incubator (BALI)—a program supporting solo attorneys dedicated to affordable legal services and social justice.

An expert in curriculum design, Sandee focuses on equipping new lawyers and students with the competencies needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving legal landscape. She currently teaches Negotiating and previously taught Critical Lawyering Skills, a first-of-its-kind required program for first-year law students that she designed, developed, and implemented. Sandee was also the primary drafter of the Law School’s Competency Model.

In her leadership roles, Sandee chairs the Clinical Hiring, Retention, and Promotion Committee and previously chaired the Assessment Committee, where she spearheaded the drafting and implementation of the Law School’s institutional assessment plan. Her service includes roles on the ABA self-study, academic affairs, and curriculum committees, as well as the University Assessment Committee and the Faculty Advisory Board for the Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

A pioneer in attorney professional development, Sandee previously served as a national Senior Manager of Attorney Training and Development at AmLaw100 firms. She was a Board member of the National Association for Legal Professionals and is a recognized author and speaker on attorney professional development. Her contributions include chapters in Innovating Talent Management in Law Firms (NALP, 2016) and The Art and Science of Strategic Talent Management in Law Firms (West, 2010).

Sandee began her legal career as a Drinan Fellow in the Economic Crime Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She earned her JD (with honors) from Suffolk University School of Law and her BS (magna cum laude) from Northeastern University. She is admitted to practice in California.
