Faculty List
Professor Sohi is a Director in the Office of Academic & Bar Success (OABS) and teaches first-year Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing (LARAW). He is also currently the Coordinator for the Legal Writing program. As a faculty member in the Office of Academic & Bar Success, Professor Sohi focuses on working with first-year students as they adapt and transition to the law school learning environment, including advising on study and time-management strategies, exam preparation, and exam-writing. Professor Sohi also advises upper-division students on a range of issues, including course scheduling, graduation requirements, and academic policies.
In his OABS role, Professor Sohi also assists with Bar preparation programming, manages the Bridge pre-orientation program for incoming 1Ls, and has taught Advanced Legal Writing: Bar Exam (ALW) and Critical Lawyering Skills (CLS), both in the day program and Flex program.
Prior to joining the Santa Clara Law faculty in 2018, Professor Sohi practiced civil litigation for 14 years, specializing in complex commercial, antitrust, securities, and public entity litigation, in both private and government practice.
He also taught Legal Research, Writing and Moot Court as an adjunct professor at UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings).
In his free time, Professor Sohi enjoys spending time with his two kids, including volunteering as a girls softball coach in the San Ramon Valley Girls Athletic League. Professor Sohi is an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.
