Erika M. Douglas is an Associate Professor at Santa Clara University School of Law, and co-supervisor of the school’s Privacy Law Certificate. Her scholarship focuses on the interactions between antitrust, data privacy, and regulation.
Prior to joining Santa Clara in 2026, Professor Douglas was an Associate Professor at Temple University, Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. Before joining the academy, Professor Douglas practiced antitrust law at the Silicon Valley office of Covington & Burling LLP, where she represented Fortune 100 technology companies in complex antitrust matters and investigations.
Professor Douglas was recently awarded the Jerry S. Cohen Award for Antitrust Scholarship, Best Publication of 2025 on Antitrust in Regulated Industries for her article Antitrust Abandonment. Her work appears in various journals and books, including the Yale Law Journal Forum, Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, Virginia Journal of Law & Technology, Notre Dame Law Review Reflection, and the Research Handbook on Competition Law And Data Privacy from University College London. She is joining as co-author on the 6th Edition of Antitrust Law in Perspective: Cases, Concepts and Problems in Competition Policy.
Professor Douglas serves on the leadership of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section, the American Antitrust Institute, the Association of American Law Schools (Section of Antitrust and Economic Regulation), and internationally on the C.D. Howe Institute Competition Policy Council. She is a Fellow of the Yale School of Management Thurman Arnold Project.
Professor Douglas holds an LL.M. (Law, Science and Technology) from Stanford University, where she was awarded the John Hart Ely Prize for writing on intermediary liability. She also holds a J.D. and Honors in Business Administration from University of Western Ontario.
