Welcome: Ishaan Prasad
Ishaan Prasad is a 1L in Santa Clara Law’s Public Interest JD and Flex JD programs, but his connection to Santa Clara University began long before law school: his mother earned her M.S. in Computer Engineering at SCU, and while she was a student, he attended the Kids on Campus daycare. Ishaan grew up attending SCU alumni events before eventually becoming a Bronco himself. Professionally, Ishaan is a social worker and serves as Director of Advocacy Services at Aero Advocates, where he represents students and families facing barriers to education. Before law school, Ishaan earned his B.A. in Public Affairs from UCLA.
Ishaan's interests in public interest law center on legal issues affecting youth and young adults, particularly at the intersections of education, disability, dependency, and juvenile delinquency. Ishaan came to law school with a strong background in educational advocacy, but his time at SCU Law has already broadened his perspective beyond education law alone. He has become increasingly interested in how young people move between schools, family and juvenile courts, social services, and other public institutions, and how legal advocacy can address the gaps between those systems.
Enjoy Cirque du Soleil with Ishaan while drinking a Coca-cola, as he has an almost anthological knowledge of current and historical shows, specific performers, stage technology, music composition; he also owns almost every available DVD of historical shows and watch as many in real life as he can!
