Charitable Donations

Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA

QCDs allow individuals age 70½ and older to make tax-free donations of up to $100,000 a year directly from an IRA to a qualified charity such as Santa Clara University, thereby satisfying all or part of their annual RMDs. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA Charitable Rollover.

Request a distribution directly from your IRA provider or download an IRA Rollover letter for your financial institution.
