Corporate Accountability (California)

Partnered with Earth Rights International and the International Corporate Accountability Roundtable to draft legislation on corporate veil piercing and statutes of limitations to allow victims greater access to state courts in cases of grave corporate human rights violations. Ultimately, the Clinic’s research led to the passage of groundbreaking human rights legislation in California: AB 15.


Conga Gold Mine (Peru)

Drafted comprehensive report on mining and human rights in the Cajamarca region of Peru. See Executive Summary. Research included travel to Peru to interview community leaders, government officials, mining employees, and others during Fall Break 2012.


Pineapples, Pesticides, and Water Contamination (Costa Rica)

Participated in hearing before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights with community leaders to denounce health and human rights violations caused by agrochemicals used in the pineapple industry in Costa Rica. Three days after the hearing, the Costa Rican government agreed to construct a new aqueduct to provide clean water to the Clinic’s clients.
