Patent pledges have become an increasingly interesting way for corporations to use their patent portfolios to lightly impose certain conditions on the marketplace and to generate public relation wins.  Andre Marais, Silicon Valley Managing Partner,  will be discussing why some corporations are apparently “giving away” their patents and why they would be making these pledges.

This day-long symposium featuring well-known lawyers, experts, and scholars will discuss some of the more pertinent issues affecting the high-tech space. This event will be a hybrid format and attendees can choose to attend in person or online.

 

IAPP STUDENT MEMBERSHIPS
Santa Clara Law has an arrangement with the International Association for Privacy Professionals (IAPP) for student memberships at a steeply discounted cost of $250.00. This includes a one year membership, one IAPP exam, study materials and one practice exam.

Names are only submitted to the IAPP 1x/semester. For Spring 2022, names will be submitted to the IAPP on 4/1/22.  Please contact Dorice McDonnell at dkunis@scu.edu for more information about the discounted membership and/or to sign up for the April 1st submission deadline.
