James Stanley

Mr. Stanley is a Principal in the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice of PwC and leads the group in Silicon Valley for the firm. Prior to joining PwC, Mr. Stanley was with the Silicon Valley office of another Big Four firm and prior to that, with that firm’s Washington National Tax practice in Washington DC. His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and internal restructurings. Specifically, this includes consulting on joint ventures, financing arrangements, corporate divisions, taxable and tax-free cross-border reorganizations, attribute carryovers, liquidations and redemptions. Mr. Stanley frequently speaks on the taxation of M&A transactions and teaches internal and external continuing professional education courses. Mr. Stanley has also written articles for internal as well as external publication.

Mr. Stanley graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in economics, attended law school at Chapman University School of Law, graduating with a J.D. and received an LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Stanley is a member of the New Jersey State Bar.
