During her 25-year career at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, Katharina Wells prosecuted white collar, sexual assault, child molest, gang, robberies, burglaries and narcotics cases. During this time, Ms. Wells was an instructor with the California District Attorneys Association and a member of the insurance fraud training committee. Ms. Wells also worked jointly with San Jose State University criminal justice students to expunge the criminal records of now law-abiding individuals.
After retiring in 2015, Ms. Wells continues to use her legal skills and serves as a volunteer advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Ms. Wells advocates local, state and national elected officials for continued funding of research that improves the lives of Type 1 diabetics. Ms. Wells is also a board member of On-Site Dental Care Foundation, a nonprofit that provides free dental care to the homeless.
In the beginning of her career, Ms. Wells was a litigation associate at Gassett, Perry and Frank in San Jose, CA. While in law school, Ms. Wells interned at the Legal Aid Society of Santa Clara County and the Law and Motion Department of the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
