Randy M. Hess is a shareholder with Adleson, Hess & Kelly, PC in Campbell, where he exclusively represents policyholders in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes. His clients include Fortune 100 companies, governmental entities, individuals and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Hess has successfully represented policyholders in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the California Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Mr. Hess has authored numerous articles on insurance coverage and has been a contributing author to the California Automobile Insurance Law Guide (CEB) and How Insurance Companies Settle Cases (James & Co.). He has frequently lectured on insurance law and has provided continuing education to policyholders’ counsel, employment and high technology law firms, corporate counsel, defense counsel, lenders, mortgage brokers, technology companies and others. He and co-counsel Pamela Bower obtained one of the highest punitive damage awards in an insurance bad faith action in the history of San Mateo County Superior Court.
He has been selected for numerous years as one of Northern California’s “Super Lawyers” in insurance by San Francisco Magazine, and is also currently listed in “Best Lawyers in America” for insurance coverage.
