Alumni who have been practicing members of the highest court of a U.S. state for a minimum period of three years and are in good standing are eligible to apply. This gathering is limited to the first 30 alumni who submit all necessary materials by February 15\, 2019 as detailed below. Each applicant being admitted may bring one guest into the Court to witness the ceremony. \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS:\nMonday\, 5/27/2019 (Memorial Day)\n6 p.m. – Monday evening Welcome Reception – The George Hotel \nTuesday\, 5/28/2019\n8:30 a.m. – Tuesday morning arrival at U.S. Supreme Court for security clearance (Maryland Avenue entrance.) Continental breakfast provided. (No phones allowed in Courtroom.) \n10:00 a.m. – Swearing-In Ceremony with honorary movant. \nNoon – Luncheon at The Monocle Restaurant with special guest speaker. \n\nHOW TO APPLY:\n\nTo begin your reservation\, please complete the Form of Intent and submit your payment for $250.00 by December 19\, 2018. By submitting this completed form\, you are reserving a space in the swearing-in ceremony\, reception\, breakfast\, and luncheon that will follow. Please note: Up to three guests can be registered at this time at $225.00 per person (includes Reception\, Breakfast and Luncheon.) Only one guest will be allowed to witness the courtroom ceremony but up to three can enter the Supreme Court for the reception and attend the luncheon which follows.\nReview the full Instructions for Admission to the Bar and complete the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Application. Each applicant must include the endorsement of two sponsors\, each of whom must be a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court. (These sponsors can not be related to you by blood or marriage. For California residents\, please reference the following information from the CA State Bar website:\nCalifornia Supreme Court Certificate of Standing\nSome jurisdictions (such as the U.S. Supreme Court) require a certificate from the California Supreme Court. The rates are $189 (single/double)\, $209 (triple) $229 (Quad.) This block is available for Monday night. There are limited rooms in the block for Sunday and Tuesday evenings. Spring is a busy time for visitors to this city but the hotel location provides many opportunities to discover on your own.
