Northern California Innocence Project
The Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP) at Santa Clara Law is a nonprofit clinical program dedicated to exonerating the wrongfully convicted, reforming the criminal justice system, and providing students with hands-on legal training. Founded in 2001, NCIP has helped free dozens of innocent individuals through groundbreaking legal advocacy and investigative work.
NCIP works at the intersection of law, policy, and education, equipping Santa Clara Law students with real-world experience in post-conviction litigation, forensic science, and criminal justice reform. In addition to securing exonerations, the organization plays a key role in legislative efforts to prevent wrongful convictions and ensure justice for all.
Through the commitment of attorneys, students, and community partners, NCIP continues to transform lives, uphold justice, and inspire the next generation of legal professionals.
